At nineteen, I had a morbid fear- I thought I would become old once I turned twenty. I was unsure of my preparedness for the responsibilities that came with maturity. I was a final year law student about to round up my studies at the university. A few weeks to my final exams, I went to see a distant cousin in her fourth year reading medicine in the same university who was celebrating her twentieth birthday. She was born a week before me. Aside from going to spend a short time with her to make her feel nice on her birthday, was the plan to ask her how she felt about clocking twenty.
