This is a public School – a co-education with a high population of students. We could manage a few classes of those in dormitory due to available facilities. Seen here is a cross-section of 52 boys that stood up during the ministration to surrender their lifes to Christ Jesus and also committed to sexual purity. They accepted that they are the sons God is looking for to stand in the gap for godly leadership to the next generation.
Beloved we need to appreciate that they the challenges they students face are enormous, so they need our concerted prayers to be sustained in their commitment. Several of them are orphans, some from broken homes and a good number from government home – these are called government children. Those in Akwa Ibom understand what that means and also their real challenge. We meet with the dormitory students on alternate Tuesdays.
The following Tuesday we had opportunity to reach out a segment of boys and girls, also boarders from the same public School. This time the fellowship is sweeter because we are gaining more trust and acceptance. We handled the theme on “You Are a Generation at Risk”. Based on the theme, we discussed some immediate factors that put them at risks and tried to proffer possible help to solutions to the issues mentioned.
The openness of the students was a great help that you could see their desire to be helped. Out of 62 students present, nearer all surrendered their lives to Christ and received a gift of a booklet, “The Reach for life booklet” as a follow-up material. We could only counsel few because of time constraint, especially, on pornographic addiction. At the end of the meeting their joy became our joy. Praise God for his mercies.
DAY STUDENTS OF COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL AKA OFFOT.
Day students were not left out in the CTLW Club. This is a cross – section of SS 1 who responded to the ministration of the “Need To maintain your sexual purity” by surrendering your entire life and sexuality to Christ. Fervent prayers were made on their behalf and brief counselling section to those in urgent need. We have been booked to meet with them from 1:30pm of alternate Tuesdays. We are hopeful that God will help their lives. We covet your prayers for them and for us, too.
